Anyone have information about a J Barnes Black powder/percussion cap 12 gauge double barrel shot gun?

I would like to find out the manufacture date, origin, possible worth, etc. I have been searching the www unable to find anything about this gun. Thanks for your help in advance.Anyone have information about a J Barnes Black powder/percussion cap 12 gauge double barrel shot gun?
I have checked J Barnes against know British makers, with negative results, problem is that mean nothing, as many small gun makers are lost in obscurity. The same applies to American makers. Your gun is certainly not worthless. It could be worth a few hundred or a few thousand, so you might consider a professional appraisal of the weapon. The below link give you an idea of how this works. It may require a hands on inspection. Yours could be a flintlock to percussion conversion. At least you have a maker name. A lot of these guns have nothing on them.

I was hoping there was a link to the famous bullet brand, Barnes, but the company is only 75 years old. Good Luck.
