How would I go about making a firecracker without using Black powder, flash powder, gun powder, etc.?

I've tried using caps for a cap gun but they just crackle. Help is appreciated. ;)How would I go about making a firecracker without using Black powder, flash powder, gun powder, etc.?
For starters my question is; If you do not have access to any of your mentioned items, then why would you be trying to make a firecracker?


For starters their is no SAFE method to making pyrotechnics. However, should you decide to do so (against best warnings) you have to remember one thing; all combustible materials will explode when put into anything that that may contain the combustion. For example: if you were to shave the ';stuff'; off of a sparkler and compress it into a piece of small PVC and cap that off and add a fuse to it, then when the fire hit the material inside, the combustion, or rather the gasses produced by the combustion, that occurs inside the PVC would have nowhere to escape causing an explosion. You can let your imagination run from there. But, may i remind you that creating something of this nature is a federal offense and falls under the category of ';bomb making.'; which in this day and age will land you in jail for a period greater than it would take to enjoy the explosion you have caused. Be forewarned, it is possible, but highly dangerous and illegal. So.......KIDS DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.How would I go about making a firecracker without using Black powder, flash powder, gun powder, etc.?

Why do you want to make a bomb? Isn't that sort of illegal in this country? Or are you from here?
