Has anyone tried using flash powder instead of black powder in aerial shells?

I'm thinking you could make them a little more complex if you had the extra space to work with.Has anyone tried using flash powder instead of black powder in aerial shells?
In what way?? Flash powder is often used in aerial shells. Salutes are flash powder, sometimes with Titanium mixed in. Flash powder is often used in the small Chinese consumer shells, it gives a harder break that black powder.

However flash powder is considered a High Explosive by the BATFE and is illegal to manufacture without a Type 20 High Explosives Manufacturing License from that BATFE. If you are caught making flash not only is it a federal charge, in this day and age it gets you labeled as a terrorist making explosives. Heck, even having large amounts of black powder making materials gets you labeled as a terrorist making bombs! I've seen it happen too many times.

It's best to avoid flash unless you have a Type 20 and even then it's best to avoid it unless you really need it due to it's high risk factor. It's not worth it if you lose a few fingers, an arm or your life. Even the most careful people have accidents with flash, I've known many, 90% won't go near the stuff anymore.
