Black powder rifles. What is the best value one and least expensive one?

I've got some questions about black powder rifles

1. What is the best value black powder rifle (under $300)

2. What is the most inexpensive one available and where can I get it?

They should preferably be .50 cal or bigger. thanksBlack powder rifles. What is the best value one and least expensive one?
Thompson Center Hawken in 36 or 50 cal. I own both and use both.

The 36 cal for about 40 years and the 50 cal for about 30 years. Both are cap not flint lock. I cast the mini-ball for both from old fishing weights. I live in the Puget Sound area so we have bucket loads of old fishing weights available here.

Seneca is also a nice rifle.

Go to www.gunbroker.com and check prices. Black powder guns can be mailed to you, no FFl required.Black powder rifles. What is the best value one and least expensive one?
I would get a .50 Hawkens, or a .50 or .54 Lyman. They're both simple, solid guns that hold up good and aren't so pretty that you don't want to take them out and use them. I had a Hawkens for about 4 years and loved it. My only beef with it was the sights that came with it, so i put on some California sights and everything was made better. The only reason I sold it is because I finally finished making my own and needed the money. Good luck to ya!
I bought a remington genesis this fall. It was under 200$. Right out of the box it was extremely accurate. Mine is a 50 cal. I bought it a cabela's
