Do you need permit or license in order to purchase a black powder rifle or pistil.?

I heard you don't need to register a black powder gun.Do you need permit or license in order to purchase a black powder rifle or pistil.?
No i dont think soDo you need permit or license in order to purchase a black powder rifle or pistil.?
Not in most states...but,ck your state laws.
federaly they are not concidered fire arms but black powder is an explosive....depends on your state.
No you do not, unless it is cartridge fed. You can walk into your local gun store, pick one out, and walk out with it the same day. No registration, no legal hassle. Plenty of fun too...
No Federal Firearms license is necessary to receive a black powder gun. You can order one from Cabelas and have it shipped to your door.

You still must be 18 to purchase a black powder rifle or shotgun and 21 for a black powder pistol.

Some states and cities treat black powder guns just like modern guns. Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York City, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Wilmington Delaware are just a few with restrictive laws.
